Our goals are to increase the number of active volunteers bringing relief to thousands at risk of hunger in the region and to build awareness of and increase the use of available resources for people unable to meet this most basic need.

MANNA
Mondays, September 8 & 29, 5:30pm-7:00pm
(5 volunteers needed; Center City/Monday)
MANNA, the Metropolitan AIDS Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance, prepares and delivers hot meals and other goodies for homebound people living with HIV/AIDS. You can help prepare some wonderful comfort food. Volunteers age 13 and over, please.

Old First United Church Food Cupboard
Saturdays, September 20 & 27, 9:00am-12:00pm
(3-6 volunteers needed; Center City/3rd & 4th Saturdays
The Cupboard program at Old First United Church of Christ serves members of the homeless community every Saturday morning. The Cupboard gives food, clothing, a warm cup of coffee, and a prayer for those that are in great need of it. Volunteers will assist with organizing and sorting donated items.

Project HOME: St. Columba's Lunch & Conversation

(2-4 volunteers needed; West Philadelphia/Saturdays)
help serve a nice sit-down lunch to the men of this West Philadelphia safe haven, and then spend time talking and keeping them company.

Philabundance Food Bank

If you're concerned about our food-insecure neighbors, here's your chance to help! Join us at the Food Bank where we'll sort and repackage food for local pantries.

SHARE - (Family Friendly)
Saturday, September 20, 9:00am-12:00pm
(10 volunteers needed; East Falls/One Saturday)
SHARE (Self Help and Resource Exchange) is a program in which people can purchase a package of food at a significantly reduced rate plus two hours of community service. The unique fact about SHARE is that it is for everyone: "If you eat, you qualify." Everyone in the neighborhood can participate. Come out, package and bag food and help out your neighbors!

Jewish Relief Agency
Sunday, September 7, 10:00am-11:30am
(5-15 volunteers needed; Northeast Philadelphia/One Sunday)
Join Jewish Relief Agency's mission to relieve hunger for low-income and elderly families by packing non-perishable kosher food for delivery. A busy hour and a half of packing will serve 1,600 families in the Northeast and beyond! Your help in delivering the food boxes afterwards would also be much appreciated!

City Team Ministries

Pitch in to help serve dinner to homeless men and families in the city of Chester. After dinner is served, feel free to sit, visit and brighten someone's evening.
