Philadelphia Cares Day, Saturday, October 18th, 2008 Improve our city's public schools by painting classrooms, restoring playgrounds, and creating green spaces at more than 100 learning centers! Principal For A Day, Wednesday, November 12th, 2008 Local corporate and community leaders exit the boardroom for the classroom during Principal For A Day. In partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Education Fund and Merrill Lynch, Greater Philadelphia Cares recruits some of the region's most influential leaders to "shadow" urban administrators throughout the district. Philadelphia Marathon - November 21st through 23rd, 2008 Be part of the Philadelphia Marathon, a world-class athletic event! Be among some two thousand volunteers on hand to support the race. There are opportunities to assist with pre-race activities such as packet stuffing, registration, expo, and the information booth. Race day activities will include course monitors, support at the start, finish, and other parts of the course.
