Thirteen Years of Caring! Greater Philadelphia Cares' vision was big in 1994 - to empower thousands of our region's residents to revitalize our city through volunteer action. Our results have come in the form of a child who can read, a neighborhood swept free of blight, a family with renewed hope, and much more. We, together with our dedicated corps of volunteers, have proven that volunteer service adds tremendous value to the community. After thirteen years of building a network of active volunteers and partnerships with results-oriented agencies across the region, Greater Philadelphia Cares is at an exciting tipping point. Inspired by the dramatic effect of our volunteers to date, we have brought together volunteer and community leaders in forums to brainstorm solutions to the issues addressed by our volunteers. We are excited to put these new ideas into action, increase volunteerism, and to boost the community-transforming power of volunteers. We believe that Greater Philadelphia Cares is uniquely positioned to give volunteers even more powerful opportunities for changing their world.
