Altria
Volunteers from Altria painted, cleaned, and planted at the Lower Paxton Fellowship Center near Harrisburg, PA. The 30 associates invested some real sweat equity as they helped the staff do their annual top-to-bottom clean-up!

Jones Apparel Group
On a rainy September 11th, some 80 volunteers from Jones Apparel Group completed a school makeover at Leidy School in West Philadelphia. As part of the Jones New York in the Classroom program, these energetic volunteers painted a number of classrooms and inspirational quotes in the kindergarten wing. Principal Horsey and her staff were moved to tears when a beautiful redecorated teachers' lounge was unveiled at the end of the day.

ACE Group Finance Division
For the third year running, more than 60 volunteers from the ACE Group Finance Division participated in a day of service. ACE associates helped organize and serve lunch at the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission in Center City, and painted the gym and a number of classrooms at the St. Benedict PAL in North Philadelphia.

Ernst & Young
On Friday, September 25, more than 350 local Ernst & Young employees reported to community volunteer activities rather than the office. Through Ernst & Young's third annual Cares Day, employees team used their workplace skills to give back to, and create a positive impact on, their local communities. This year's featured project took place at St. John's Organic Community Garden in Phoenixville. Ernst & Young volunteers could also be found in Philadelphia at Frankford High School, John Welsh School, Pennypack Park, and Philabundance, as well as at City Team Ministries in Chester and Urban Promise in Pennsauken, NJ.

Accenture
Following a company event, Accenture redeemed the prize tickets won by their employees for stuffed animals and toys which they generously donated to the children at CHOP.

McNeil
A group from McNeil rolled up their sleeves for a day of cleaning to prepare the Variety Club Camp & Developmental Center, a camp for children with special needs, for their summer session.

Eli Lilly
Applause is in order for the impressive effort from Eli Lilly employees around the region. Volunteers generously spent their time helping at a variety of agencies including Urban Promise, Delaware Housing Coalition, Philabundance, AchieveAbility and Robin's Nest.

Independence Blue Cross
Independence Blue Cross interns took time out of their busy summer schedules to sort, organize and package food in SHARE's warehouse.

Sunguard
Conventioneers visiting Philadelphia with Sunguard graciously gave back to the community while in town. They dramatically brightened up the community room at Eliza Shirley House with a mural incorporating keynote speaker Maya Angelou's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings". Books collected at the convention throughout the week were also generously donated to the shelter.

LevLane
LevLane kicked off their community involvement through Greater Philadelphia Cares with a great environmentally focused project at FDR Park. Volunteers removed invasive plant species, cleared trails, planted flowers and cleaned up the park.

Wyeth
A hardworking group of Wyeth employees and their families rolled up their sleeves at the Germantown YMCA. The team repainted the residential side of the facility through two separate visits. Their dedication not only brightened up the space, but also the residents.

Border's
Border's held a very successful book drive at their Wynnewood store. The boxes of new books were graciously donated to Police Athletic League centers in which officers make a difference in their communities by working with children.

Centocor
A team from Centocor visited Trevor's Place for a special reading hour with the children. They donated books and toys to the shelter, as well as some electronic equipment, such as musical keyboards and television sets.

Philadelphia Eagles
A group of Philadelphia Eagles employees also spent time with the children of Trevor's Place. They read to and colored with the youngest residents and built gingerbread houses with the older children. Afterwards, they donated books and presents to the shelter.

Accenture
Accenture employees that stayed in town for the holidays made quite an impact around Philadelphia and Wilmington. They helped out at Child, Inc., Philabundance, St. Vincent de Paul and Ray of Hope.

GlaxoSmithKline
Two separate teams from GlaxoSmithKline brought the holiday spirit to the Eliza Shirley House, a shelter for women and children in Center City. They generously decorated the space with Christmas trees and other holiday decorations.
